POLICE are urging residents to secure properties after an attempted burglary in west Dorset.
Officers are appealing for information after an incident in Lyme Regis at the weekend.
An offender took advantage of a small open window at a property along Mill Green, and opened a larger window.
It is not believed the offender entered the property as nothing was stolen.
The incident took place between 5.30pm and midnight on Saturday, June 27.
Police Constable Sean Cannon, of Lyme Regis police, said: “Fortunately, nothing was taken from the property, but this highlights the importance of ensuring your property is left secure and not making it easy for thieves.
“I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard something in the area around the time of the incident.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 101. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
