A PHOTOGRAPHER who has worked with the monarchy gave families using Julia’s House a right royal treat.

Dorset-based Millie Pilkington, who has been appointed to work with the Royal Family on a number of occasions, donated her time to the hospice to give the families and children an extra-special photo shoot.

Millie spent the afternoon at Julia’s House, based in Corfe Mullen, taking pictures of the families in attendance.

The pictures will now be used to support fundraising at the hospice, and to give the families a long-lasting memento.

Julia’s House cares for children who are suffering from life-limiting illnesses and also offers support to their parents and families.

Louise McKenna, lead nurse at the hospice said everyone enjoyed the experience of the photo shoot with Millie.

She said: “The photographs are absolutely stunning.

“They really capture the spirit of Julia’s House as a happy place where children come for care and play and where families can find support and comfort.

“We are so grateful to Millie for giving up her time for us.

“She was simply wonderful with the children and put everyone at ease. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere during the shoot.”

Millie has gained herself an impressive reputation, and worked as a behind-the-scenes photographer at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Millie said she enjoyed the photo shoot at the hospice.

She said: “It really was a very special day spent with incredible children, caring staff and strong parents.

“Julia’s House is an amazing charity, giving seriously sick children and their families a chance to find support, care, love and laughter.

“A truly amazing place, I left feeling totally humbled.

“When I got home I kissed my children goodnight with even more love and gratitude for their health and happiness.”
