Firefighters from Dorchester attended a property blaze after a toaster caught fire in a kitchen.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service was called to the incident at 3.44pm on Wednesday after reports of a fire in a building.
On arrival, the two crews found light smoke logging within the property and using a thermal imaging camera crews investigated the cause, which found that the toaster had accidentally been switched on with bread inside.
The fire destroyed the toaster and also caused light smoke damage to the kitchen.
A spokesman for the service said: "Dorset Fire and Rescue Service would like to remind people to please ensure that when using a portable toaster that it is not placed under any kitchen units."
