WEYMOUTH'S RNLI all-weather lifeboat was launched on yesterday evening after a motor cruiser with five people on board broke down off Portland.
The lifeboat was launched at 5.15pm and the crew arrived at the scene off Church Ope Cove and discovered the vessel was approximately 100 metres from the beach and had anchored to avoid being swept onto shore.
The lifeboat towed the stranded vessel back to the waiting pontoon in Weymouth Harbour, arriving back around 7pm.
