JOB satisfaction at a Weymouth primary school is 'virtually guaranteed', according to assessors.

The new Holy Trinity Primary School has ticked all the boxes in a review by Investors In People UK.

An assessor visited Holy Trinity Infant School and the neighbouring Junior School ahead of their merger in September.

The two schools are set to move into a new building together in Cross Road to become Holy Trinity Primary - the biggest primary school in Dorset, with more than 700 pupils.

And for junior school headteacher Mark Cheesley - who will be head of the new primary school - this is the best possible news before the big change.

He said: "It's an amazingly good report.

"We have a very special school for staff and children and obviously this has been picked up by the assessors.

"We want to make sure everybody here feels part of the organisation, and feels comfortable and happy in their work."

The report finds the school has an 'outstanding ethos that encourages and supports initiative at all levels'.

It states: "It is welcoming and friendly, yet disciplined.

"The whole staff acts together as one team and supports each other in every aspect of school life.

"Staff aspirations are properly managed so that job satisfaction is virtually guaranteed. All staff want to work for the new school and are prepared to go the extra mile."

The report praises the rapport and relationships between staff of all grades at the school, calling it 'excellent'.

And the assessor notes that colleagues get together outside school hours to strengthen their bonds.

He writes: "A number of functions such as 10-pin bowling have been arranged to build the team ethos.

"At the most recent, over 30 members of staff were bowling and a further 15 came to enjoy the evening. This is magic!"
