THE DALEKS of Doctor Who swapped time travel for tanks as they made a special trip to the Tank Museum in Bovington.

More than 2,500 people braved the rain over the weekend to see the themed event, which included daleks roaming around the museum with the United Intelligence Taskforce (UNIT) in hot pursuit of Doctor Who’s arch enemies.

There were also appearances from Doctor Who personalities, who were involved in the making of the iconic series, as well as sci-fi stalls and visitors dressed up as their favourite characters.

The weekend event included a talk from Mark Cordory, who ran the props fabrication department in the early days of David Tennant as Doctor Who and remained on the production into the start of both Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

The dalek spectacular was also attended by actor Jon Davey, who has appeared in more than 30 episodes of Doctor Who over the past 10 years.

Doctor Who fans took to social media to share their views on the event and said they had an ‘awesome day’ and were ‘spoilt’ by the appearance of both the daleks and the tanks.

This summer there are activities taking place every day for visitors to The Tank Museum, including tanks in action displays, talks, tours and trails.
