DORCHESTER'S Brewery Square development has revealed sales of apartments have now passed £45million.

The figure for apartment sales in completed buildings and those release so far off-plan come as the town centre scheme developers look to build on their success with the releasing of a new apartment building.

The Barley Building is being released, offering sixteen two and thee-bed apartments for sale off-plan.

The apartments are due to be completed in spring next year.

The Barley Building opposite Dorchester South train station has been designed by architects CZWG with interiors by Conran and Partners.

Each apartment will include secure underground parking with direct lift access and most have balconies or terraces.

Andrew Wadsworth, director of Waterhouse which is developing the site in partnership with Resolution Property, said the success of the residential sales at Brewery Square was matched by the 'increasingly popular' commercial and leisure facilities on the site.

He said: "Brewery Square brings a new standard of apartment design, space and specification to Dorchester.

"The success of residential sales and increasingly popular restaurants, shops, cinema and hotel speak for themselves."

The £100million Brewery Square development is transforming the town's former Eldridge Pope Brewery into a mixed use scheme featuring apartments, shops, hotels, restaurants and other facilities.

The first and second phases of the scheme have seen all apartments sold and more than 90 per cent of commercial space let to a range of tenants including Hobbs, Phase Eight, Jones Bootmaker, Gerry Weber and Joules, Odeon, Carluccio’s, Wagamama, Nando’s, Zizzi, Pizza Express, Vivo Lounge and Costa, as well as Premier Inn and the NHS Atrium Health Centre.

A number of local independent shops have also opened in the scheme.

The first phase was opened in 2010 and the second, which features the main public square complete with fountains, was completed three years later.

Work is currently progressing on the next phase of the development, known as Brewery Square Gardens, which features five buildings comprising 134 apartments and 15 shops, completing the new Pope Street, which leads from Dorchester South station to the main square.

The current phase is due for completion in spring 2016.
