A 43-YEAR-OLD Bournemouth man has appeared in court to face charges in relation to an alleged axe attack in Charminster.
Lee Bowers, of Charminster Road, offered no plea to any of the charges put to him at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court yesterday.
He was charged with assaulting Richard Sharman-Crawford causing him actual bodily harm, making a threat to kill Richard Sharman-Crawford, possessing an offensive weapon, namely an axe, and the production of a quantity of cannabis.
He was remanded in custody and the case was adjourned until Thursday, August 6 at Bournemouth Crown Court.
Armed police officers rushed to Charminster Road at 2.30pm on Wednesday following reports a man had been attacked.
At one point seven police vehicles along with armed response units and a fire crew were in attendance and Charminster Road was closed at the Maxwell Road junction. Two men sustained minor injuries.
