A MOTHER and son are on trial accused of supplying drugs.

Eleanor Videan, aged 52, and Thomas Ryan Videan, aged 23, both of Pound Street, Lyme Regis, are charged with possessing Class A drug MDMA, with intent to supply.

Thomas Videan has also been charged with possessing Class B drug cannabis, with intent to supply. Both defendants deny these charges.

Thomas Videan has pleaded guilty to possessing MDMA and cannabis.

The charges relate to an incident last July last year after police searched their home.

A jury at Dorchester Crown Court heard a bag of dried dog food was found containing three lumps of 91 per cent pure MDMA weighing 81.9g. Also within the bag was a rolled up sock containing 17 small clear plastic bags of 93 per cent pure MDMA – each bag having an average weight of 0.43g.

In addition, a bag containing 28g of herbal cannabis, a small bag containing a small cannabis leaf, and a bag containing numerous small clear bags were seized.

A wrap of green herbal cannabis and a quantity of bank notes in a beige envelope was also seized from Eleanor Videan’s bedroom.

After one officer was shown the dried dog food bag in the kitchen, he returned to the lounge where Eleanor Videan said: “That’s mine. Everything you find in there is mine.”

John Dyer, representing Thomas Videan, said mobile phones and a laptop were seized by police which showed no messages indicating drug dealing.

The trial continues.
