WEYMOUTH will be on television screens across the country tonight as a show starring Sir Terry Wogan is broadcast.

Sir Terry was spotted in the town in April filming for Terry and Mason’s Great Food Trip.

The programme sees him and London cabbie Mason McQueen travelling around the country in a black cab following a route mapped out by Samuel Chamberlain in his 1963 travelogue.

The duo will be sampling a range of local cuisines as they travel around the country.

On his visit to the town, Sir Terry was giving the honour of lifting the town bridge, much to the delight of the on looking crowds and took a trip in a harbour rowing boat.

Tonight’s episode is the first in the series and is on at 6.30pm on BBC2.
