A WEYMOUTH-based company has been shortlisted in the hunt to find Britain’s best named business.
Mud, Sweat N Gears, which is located on the Chickerell Link Park and has a shop in Dorchester, is one of 10 finalists named in the nationwide hunt for the best name, led by energy and utility firm Make It Cheaper.
A public vote, which ends at 5pm today, has been launched to name a winner and organisers have tried to shortlist companies that have embraced puns.
Mud, Sweat N Gears, which originally started out at Littlemoor Garden Centre in 1996, before moving to Granby Court and then finally Chickerell Link Park, faces some stiff competition.
A mobile fast food firm from Bristol, Jason Donervan, automated gate installations company from Buckinghamshire Bill’s Gates, Hampshire locksmiths Surelock Holmes and Cornwall cleaners Spruce Springclean are sure to give the Weymouth company a run for their money.
