WAREHAM and Purbeck Young Farmers’ Club and the Vintage Ploughing Committee will be hosting its 40th annual ploughing match tomorrow.

The event at Bere Regis is being held to raise funds for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the charity Footsteps for Roxy. There will be around 60 vintage and modern tractors taking part.

Committee secretary Helen Selby said: “This is a special time for us as we have reached our 40th year.”

The overall champion of this match becomes eligible to plough at the national finals The 40th annual ploughing match, sign-posted from Bere Regis, is set for Sunday, October 4, from 9am. There will be refreshments and other attractions at the event.
