A VEHICLE was destroyed in a blaze in west Dorset.
Bridport fire crew were called to a vehicle on fire on West Bay Road just after 11.30pm last night. Crews used two jets to tackle the blaze but the car was completely destroyed.
Following the incident Simon from the Crown Inn in Bridport tweeted the fire service to thank them. He said: “Great job by @Dorset Fire the fire is out. If anyone saw what happened call 101 and let them know Road clear and safe now.”
The blaze was part of a busy night for Dorset fire and Rescue. Crews from Sturminster Newton were called to Church Road in Shillingstone at 8.25 pm last night to a microwave fire, while crews from Blandford and Bere Regis attending a bedroom fire in Damer Close, Milton Abbas, shortly afterwards.
Just after midnight the Salisbury crew were called out to investigate the smell of gas at Church Road, Idmiston.
