THERE'S a packed arts programme this weekend for any kind of weather - but the big event is down on the beach, where exhilarating motorbike action is guaranteed.

*START your engines for a weekend of Weymouth Beach Motocross.

This exciting autumn event will feature main races on Sunday when more than 200 riders take to the beach and entertainment tomorrow afternoon.

The entertainment includes the Odyssey Majorettes, Gorilla Man and quad bikes.

There will also be a motocross demonstration as a taster for Sunday's big event.

Events are held on the beach tomorrow and Sunday between 12pm and 4pm.

*HEAR the Wareham Whalers sing some sea shanties at the Fine Foundation Gallery, Durlston Castle, Durlston Country Park in Swanage tonight. (9)

The evening will feature shanties as well as a selection of sea songs that were sung for relaxation and entertainment.

*AN EVENING of songs, sketches and surprises inspired by the revolutionary new science of Gaia Theory is at Dorchester Corn Exchange on Sunday from 6.30pm.

*A RUSSIAN choir all the way from St Petersburg will be singing at the Herrison Hall, Charlton Down, from 3pm on Sunday. Voskresenije will be entertaining the audience.
