THE funeral for Britain’s oldest paperboy, Ted Ingram, is being held next week.

It is being held at the Church of St Simon and St Jude Church, Winterbourne Monkton on Thursday, November 5 at 11.30am.

Ted passed away on Monday, October 19.
He had been delivering newspapers in Winterborne Monkton since 1942 and was a much-loved member of the local community.

He was well-known and often stopped to talk to people when out delivering papers.

Ted retired from delivering newspapers in 2013, after more than 70 years and after being recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.

He had lived in Winterborne Monkton since 1938 before moving to Maiden Castle House in Dorchester last year.

Ted had two children, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and was married to Betty.

Anyone who wants to make a funeral donation can do so for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and they may be sent to Grassby Funeral Service, 8 Princes Street, Dorchester, DT1 1TW.
