TWO children were among those taken to hospital after a three-car collision at Kites Hill near Blandford, which has left one man with life threatening injuries.

A nine-month-old baby was uninjured in the collision, and a four-year-old girl suffered cuts to her neck. The driver of the car they were travelling in at the time of the crash at 3.10pm yesterday on the A350, was a 28-year-old woman from Verwood. She suffered serious injuries to her legs.

The woman was driving a red Audi A4. The other vehicles involved int he crash were a silver Ford Galaxy and a black Peugeot 3008.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 65-year-old woman from Shillingstone, suffered fractured ribs and internal injuries. The passenger of the car, an 86-year-old Shillingstone man, suffered a fractured pelvis and chest injuries. His injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

A police spokesperson said this morning: "All the injured people were taken to Dorset County Hospital where they remained overnight. The road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out and police would like to thank people for their patience.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police on 101."
