*THE literati will be in Bridport for the town's literary festival.

Among the highlights this weekend is Fergus Byrne, who will be talking about his book on entrepreneur Felix Dennis tonight at the Electric Palace.

This morning James Rebanks will be waxing lyrical about the life of a shepherd.

James and his family have lived and worked in the Lake District for generations and he will be talking about his book The Shepherds Life - A Tale of the Lake District.

He will be in conversation with James Crowden at the Electric Palace this morning from 11am.

Tomorrow afternoon, catch Dr Lewis Dartnell talking about his new book, described as 'the thinking book of the year'.

Best-selling author Sebastian Faulks will be talking about his latest novel Where My Heart Used To Beat tomorrow at 6.30pm at the Electric Palace.

*A BOOK sale in aid of the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust will be at the Dorford Centre, Bridport Road, Dorchester tomorrow from 9am to 2pm.

Refreshments will also be on sale along with Christmas items.

*A MOOSE International sixties charity dance is being held at the Ocean Room, Weymouth Pavilion, tonight from 7pm.

Replay will be providing the entertainment along with support act Seb Powles.

*THE Falcon's Malteser, a family film noir pastiche, is at Dorchester Corn Exchange on Sunday from 2.30pm.

The play follows the adventures of the hopelessly inept private detective Tim Diamond and his sharp witted brother Nick.

Artsreach presents Cscape - Taste, a dance show Taste which explores what defines our identity and ponders the intricacies behind our choices.

It will be at Buckland Newton Village Hall tomorrow at 7.30pm and Halstock Village Hall on Sunday at 7.30pm.

*WIMBORNE Art Club is hosting its exhibition today from 1pm to 4.30pm and tomorrow and Sunday, 10am to 4.30pm both days.

It will be held at Pamphill Parish Hall - admission is free and mince pies and refreshments are available.
