A MOTORBIKE stolen in Dorchester was used as a getaway vehicle after a raid in a hair salon in Shaftesbury.
Police said two men loaded a large sack or duvet cover with GHD hair straighteners, curlers and hairdryers after gaining entry to the Kalypso hair salon in Salisbury Street at around 11.30pm on Sunday.
The motorbike, a blue Honda, was used by the men to leave the scene and was spotted travelling along Salisbury Road towards the A30. It was later found abandoned on the A350 close to the junction with the Old Lower Blandford Road.
Police Sergeant James Francis, of Shaftesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw two men activing suspiciously in the area at the relevant time to please call me on 101.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone who has been offered GHD straighteners, curlers or hairdryers for sale in suspicious circumstances.
“All calls will be treated in strict confidence.”
