*SONG and dance from the streets of Baltimore has arrived in Weymouth.

WOW Youth Musical Theatre is staging Hairspray at Weymouth Pavilion tonight and tomorrow evening.

There will also be a matinee performance tomorrow.

Hairspray won eight Tony Awards on Broadway, including best musical.

Following WOW’s acclaimed productions of ‘Sister Act’ and ‘Grease’, the numerous teenage characters make ‘Hairspray’ ideal for a dynamic youth theatre group such as WOW to perform.

Clare Phelan plays the lead role of Tracy Turnblad, a sweet but spirited teenager who just wants to dance.

This is a fabulous, feel-good musical comedy guaranteed to get your foot tapping and lift your spirits.

Evening performances start at 7.30pm and the Saturday matinee is at 2.30pm.

*THE popular Vinyl Saturday Record & CD Fair is back in Bridport tomorrow.

The fair, which has more than 20 stalls, will be at Bridport United Church, East Street, from 10am to 4pm. Admission is £1.

*Fans of The Who will be flocking to the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis tomorrow evening.

The Total Who show brings you two glorious hours of all the greatest hits from The Who.

The group pay tribute to The Who in their own unique way, capturing the power and pure adrenaline rush of the band.

Magic Bus is made up of stunning musicians in their own right, who have written and performed with Elton John, David Bowie, Ringo Starr, Peter Gabriel, Asia, Julian Lennon, ABC, Cheap Trick, Bruce Springsteen, and Foo Fighters.

*TOMORROW at 2.30pm Martinstown Village Hall will play host to a high paced, quirky and beautiful adventure inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

Artsreach presents Panta Rei Danseteater Behind the Mirror, a duet where two characters enter a surreal environment of large chessboard pieces, tiny tea sets, bottles containing magic potions and hundreds of jam tarts.

Their journey involves unexpected puzzles, questions, lifts and random meetings for both audience and performer.

The production is suitable for children and young at heart adults.

*AWARD-WINNING Dorset folk duo Ninebarrow will perform at Ibberton Village Hall tomorrow evening from 7.30pm.

Jon Whitley and Jay LaBouchardiere combine breath taking vocal harmonies and melodies, delivering original songs that are inspired and rooted in the landscape and history of the British Isles.

*FUN FILLED family friendly, physical theatre comes to Winfrith Village Hall tomorrow evening.

Bec Applebee Company presents The Ugly Sisters from 7.30pm.

Ella is a farmer’s daughter. She loves the farm and has never worried about whether her welly boots are in fashion or not.

So it is a complete shock when her Father introduces her to her two new step sisters. These girls are beautiful! They are primped, plumped and plucked.

This show is also at Gillingham School Arts Theatre on December 9 and Halstock Village Hall on December 10.

*THE Briantspuddle Singers present A Feast of Folk Songs at Lulworth Village Hall tomorrow evening from 7.30pm.

There will be British and American traditional folk songs including arrangements by Holst, Vaughan-Williams, Grainger, McDowell, Copeland and Barber.

The concert features actor and jazz/opera soloist Bryony Purdue - pianist will be Sam Hanson organist and director of music for Bournemouth Town Centre Parish.

Tickets are £10 on the door.
