FOUR Weymouth youngsters are set to star in the new Teletubbies TV show.

Friends Archie Sams, 4, and Evan Harvey-Watkins, 5, and twins Skye and Brooklyn Whiting, 4, will all be featuring in one of the 16 new episodes of the popular children’s show.

The show originally aired in 1997 and ran until 2001. But now it is back with 16 new episodes featuring the brightly-coloured inhabitants of Teletubbyland: Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa and Po.

The four children will star alongside their parents, in an episode about flight.

They filmed the episode at Abbotsbury Swannery.
Archie’s mum, Gail Brown, said she was very proud. She said the production company behind the show got in touch with the nursery the boys went to and asked if parents would be happy for them to film the children chatting and reacting to the camera.

The parents gave permission and they filmed the youngsters. Mrs Brown said: “Archie and Evan loved it.

“They didn’t stop chatting apparently.”

The production company said they would like Archie and Evan to appear in the episode and so they got in touch with their parents.

Mrs Brown said: “We had to go to Abbotsbury Swannery. The episode they are in is all about flying.

“It was great fun. They got to run around the Swannery and look at all the swans.”

She added: “I’m very proud.”

A while afterwards the families were asked to do some additional voiceovers at a studio in Weymouth.

Mrs Brown said: “Archie enjoyed it and he got to see Evan, which he hadn’t for a while because Evan has started school, so it was nice to have a catch-up.”

She added: “The kids thought it was amazing when they saw themselves on TV.

“The rest of the family think it’s brilliant.”

The new season started earlier this month on the BBC’s CBeebies channel.
