STUDENTS from a Portland school will be going down the rabbit hole and putting on a special dance production.

Around 50 IPACA students from Years 7 to 13 are putting on the production based on characters from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland.

The production has been choreographed by both students and teachers to entertain crowds with several performances.

Performances are taking place from tomorrow until Friday at 7.30pm and are open to the public.

It will combine an original storyline with the famous characters from the books.

The production will tell the story of Courtney, a girl with a vivid imagination who is sitting in the park reading her beloved storybook when an encounter with a spritely young boy ends with the words from her book being stolen.

In her attempt to retrieve the stolen words, Courtney finds herself in a magical land dressed as the titular Alice. The story then tells us how the real Alice has been captured by the evil Queen of Hearts and her courtiers, who now use her for their entertainment.

The audience will join Courtney on her adventure and see if she can save Alice, take back her words and safely return to her own world.

Performances are at the Portland Sculpture and Quarry Trust Drill Hall on Easton Lane and tickets are available from IPACA’s Royal Manor Campus now.

People are being invited to don their best Alice in Wonderland fancy dress to join in the fun with a competition taking place throughout the week for the best fancy dress.

The cast has been working hard for months to ensure they put on the best show possible.
