A DORSET technology firm welcomed a visitors from a special charity doing its bit for wounded or disabled soldiers and former members of the armed forces.

The Not Forgotten Association is a triservice charity which provides entertainment, leisure and recreation for the serving wounded, injured or sick and for ex-service men and women with disabilities.

At the quarterly staff briefing at Atlas Elektronik UK at the Dorset Green Technology Park at Winfrith, the company welcomed Peter McMurray from the charity.

Peter is one of seven unpaid volunteers who support and represent the NFA and help to run events and activities.

The services they provide are open to all serving and ex-service ment and women whose life has been affected by conflict or subsequent injury.

Thanks to the backing of companies like Atlas Elektronik the NFA is still going strong after 96 years.

Last year Atlas Elektronik sponsored and competed in The Reginald Fessenden Challenge.

The charity sailing event was preceded by a BBQ and auction to raise funds for the NFA.

Atlas Elektronik managing director Dr Antoni Mazur said: “As an underwater defence supplier, we at Atlas Elektronik feel a great affinity with members of the armed forces, and supporting the injured men and women through the great work of the NFA is a way of showing our appreciation of the sometimes difficult and dangerous work that they do.”
