TWO prisoners who got onto a roof at HMP Guys Marsh came down voluntarily.
The two gained access to a roof at the category C prison near Shaftesbury in north Dorset, on Monday morning.
Trained officers worked to resolve the situation and an ambulance crew from South Western Ambulance Service were called to the scene to assist if needed.
The incident was resolved at round midnight and the prisoners came down from the roof voluntarily.
It is understood that they have been placed in the segregation unit and that the prison regime is now operating normally again.
A prison service spokesman said: "Prison staff successfully resolved an incident involving two prisoners at HMP Guys Marsh last night. There were no injuries to anyone involved."
