CLASSIC car owners in Dorset are being offered the chance to show off their motors while raising money for a good cause.

The Dorset Blind Association is holding their second annual classic car run and show on Sunday, May 8.

There are 20 places left for motoring enthusiasts to exhibit their vintage vehicles outside the iconic Lulworth Castle.

The car run, in association with Poole Bay Classics Car Club, will start at the Sandford Pub in Wareham and span 30 miles through the Dorset countryside, culminating in the vehicles' arrival at the Lulworth Estate.

Owners will then have the chance to exhibit their cars to fellow classic motoring enthusiasts and the general public.

The Dorset Blind Association show is the only classic car event to be held against the picturesque backdrop of Lulworth Castle.

There are a number of events outside the world of cars as well, with entry to the showground free from noon for a family fun day.

There are a number of activities for youngsters to get involved in, including games and face painting.

Stalls in the showground will offer refreshments, crafts and plants for purchase.

Helena Sinclair, events fundraiser at Dorset Blind Association, said: "We are in a fabulous position as [owner of the Lulworth Estate] James Weld is now our president and he has kindly given his permission for us to use this fantastic venue for our annual classic car event.

"We want to attract new supporters and donors from throughout the county to join us and have a great day out, whilst supporting a very worthwhile cause."

The Dorset Blind Association supports visually impaired people across Dorset, with almost 35,000 people in the county living with serious sight loss.

It costs the charity £325 to support a single patient for an entire year, with services including home visitors, social groups and a community support worker.

Entry to the car run costs £5, including a route sheet and free entry to the showground for the fun day.
