POLICE were alerted to a Weymouth street following reports of an assault.
Residents told how five police cars descended on Churchill Close, Wyke Regis this morning.
Officers, together with paramedics, responded to reports someone had been assaulted outside a property.
A Dorset Police spokesman said a 32-year-old Weymouth man had been arrested on suspicion of common assault and was assisting officers with enquiries.
The force said a person had received minor injuries.
A resident said: “It’s quiet here and can be quite sleepy at times, except during the school rush.
