QUIZ: Dorset or Australia? Can you guess these destinations from just one picture?

Rental Cars have created a quiz to find out how recognisable different landscapes are around the world and how many people want to visit these places based on one image alone.

Dorset features a few times and was voted in the top six destinations people want to visit based on the attached image, beating places such as France, Greece and even Bosnia. Almost 1 in 5 people even mistook the Dorset coast for Byron Bay in Australia.

According to the quiz, 40 percent of Brits questioned didn’t know these views from the Wareham area were in the UK.

Even people that live in the South West area were unaware this was even on their doorstep.

More than one in three people in the South West guessed the location of the picture wrongly.

30 per cent of people in the South West thought this was Crete in Greece and seven per cent were confident this was a picture of Poland.

More than one in three Brits didn’t even know this was in the UK.

Brits guessed this location was South Africa and some even thought this was California in America.

Even 29 per cent of those from the South West were fooled, 21 per cent thought it was South Africa too and the rest guessed California.

The white sands and blue sea of Lulworth and Durdle Door made people of the South West think this was abroad. The majority of people thought it was Byron Bay, Australia, but some even thought it was Nepal.

Most people didn’t realise this was the Lake District and instead guessed it was Canada.

And it tunrs out that Germany is the most popular country in EU to visit by people in the South West region of the UK and Ireland is the least popular.

And people of the South West voted New York Times Square the most overrated tourist attraction in the world to visit.
