A MAN has been taken to hospital after falling 30ft onto rocks.
The Wyke Regis Coastguard were called out at 5.03pm on Tuesday to the 60-year-old man who had fallen at Sandsfoot Castle in Weymouth.
Once they found him, he was taken by the Weymouth Inshore Lifeboat to Castle Cove.
He was then transported to Portland Flight HQ where he was assessed by South West Ambulance Service paramedics and it was decided that he should go to Dorset County Hospital via road ambulance.
A Coastguard rescue helicopter remained in the area throughout the rescue in case it was needed.
A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 4.47pm.
"A 60-year-old-male had fallen.
"He has got a leg injury and an arm injury.
"We took him to Dorset County Hospital by road ambulance."
In a separate incident, the Coastguard requested the Weymouth Inshore Lifeboat after reports of a person in the water at Overcombe Corner around 2pm.
The person had been helped ashore by a member of the public when they arrived and paramedics took over the handling of the casualty.
