A MOTORCYCLIST has been airlifted to hospital with suspected head injuries after a crash.
The collision took place near the Ashley Wood Recovery garage on the B3082 in Tarrant Keyneston this morning at around 7.30am.
It involved a Toyota Auris and a Yamaha R1, and a 40-year-old biker has been airlifted to hospital.
A spokesman from the South Western Ambulance Service said: "He was conscious and breathing but had suspected head injuries and a fractured wrist.
"He has gone into Southampton General Hospital."
He was taken by a Great Western Air Ambulance helicopter which had come from Bristol.
Police were called to the scene and closed the road between the The True Lovers Knot pub and the Ashley Wood Golf Club. It re-opened just after 9.30am.
The Toyota driver, an 80-year-old man, did not sustain any apparent injuries according to PC Mark Palmer, of Dorset Police's Traffic Unit.
"If anyone witnessed the crash, please call me on 101," he added.
