SUPPORTERS of a Dorset children’s hospice are being offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet jazz star Jamie Cullum.

Larmer Tree Festival - whose official partner is Julia’s House - has launched a competition for the chance to meet the musician.

Cullum is headlining the opening night on Wednesday, July 13 and packed crowds are expected to enjoy a memorable set, with support from Jack Amoretti, in the unique garden setting.

A spokesman for Julia’s House said: “To mark their official partnership with Julia’s House, Larmer Tree Festival has released details of the competition which offers a lucky winner two Wednesday tickets and the chance to meet Cullum in person.

“To enter, visit justgiving.com/fundraising/winameetandgreetwithjamiecullum and make a minimum donation of £5, leaving your full name and agreeing to be contacted by Julia’s House and Larmer Tree Festival.”

The winner will be selected at random after the competition closes on Sunday, June 18 at 5pm. All proceeds will go to Julia’s House.

The children’s hospice charity is dedicated to helping life-limited children and their families across Dorset, and over the county border into Wiltshire.

The help comes in the form of respite care, and care is also offered in private homes when needed. Nurses and carers help with both practical day-to-day tasks and emotional support, throughout a child’s illness and at the end of a child’s life.

The charity relies on public fundraising and donations for 95 per cent of its running costs. TV star Martin Clunes is among the celebrity supporters.

Larmer Tree Festival runs from July 13 to 17 and takes place in Larmer Tree Gardens on Cranborne Chase.

The event has been running for 26 years this year and joining Jamie Cullen on stage are Caro Emerald, The Stranglers, Tom Odell and Calexico.
