A TRIO of cyclists are holding a fundraising evening to help raise sponsorship for their London to Paris ride.

Student paramedic Martin Chick and friends will be undertaking the journey in September – and to make the challenge just that bit harder they’ll be taking it in turns to ride a fully kitted-out paramedic bike weighing 30kg. All the money they raise will be donated to the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

To help them towards their fundraising goal, they’ll be holding a charity evening at the Lazy Lizard in Weymouth from 7pm on August 27. There will be a band, disco and buffet, plus a raffle. Prizes include a family pass to Farmer Palmers, a Weymouth RIB family ticket, a tub of Rossi’s ice cream and a one month pass to FCF fitness camp.

Tickets cost £10 and raffle tickets £1 each with the draw to take place at the Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester at 4.30pm on September 5.
