POLICE believe youths could be behind a spate of nine ‘egging’ attacks.

Weymouth Neighbourhood Policing Team said that recently they have had nine reports of ‘egging’ – where properties and vehicles have had eggs thrown at them.

Officers suspect youths could be behind the attacks which have been said to have left ‘vulnerable residents frightened.’ Officers are urging any parents who think their youngsters may be involved to check where they are going and what they are doing, stating: “Let's get a fix on this.”

In a post on Facebook the Neighbourhood Policing team said: “We have had up to nine reports of ‘egging.’ Where properties and vehicles have had eggs thrown at them.

“This includes properties along Preston Road, near the Spar shop, Seven Acres Road and Rosewood Drive.

“From this the young persons could probably be living in and around the area.”

It adds: “This anti-social behaviour is having a detrimental effect on the residents.

“Some bed and breakfasts are having their businesses affected while more vulnerable residents are frightened.

“If you have children that might be involved, please check on what they are doing and where they are going. Let's get a fix on this.”
