THE coastguard was called to help a walker suffering from a suspected fracture to their foot.

Wyke Regis coastguard team was paged at 3.30pm today to assist the ambulance service with an extraction near Langton Herring

The ambulance service had reports of a casualty that had fallen whilst walking near the Fleet, causing a suspected fracture to their foot.

The team proceeded to Bagwell Farm to establish contact with the ambulance service, before re-positioning to Langton Herring and accessing the walker's location via a farm track.

The ambulance service had experienced difficulties accessing the location due to the terrain.

Once on the scene, the coastguard crew placed them on to a stretcher to take them to a coastguard rescue vehicle.

The walker was taken in the vehicle to the nearby Elm Tree Inn before being placed in a waiting ambulance.
