PARAMEDICS have checked over four casualties and treated one for smoke inhalation after a kitchen blaze.

Two crews of firefighters, one from Maiden Newton and the other from Dorchester, were called to the fire in Broadmayne at 7.48pm.

The blaze was in the kitchen of a home, contained to a pan on a cooker hob.

Paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service treated one casualty for smoke inhalation and gave three more precautionary checks.

The firefighters used two breathing apparatus whilst tackling the flames with a carbon dioxide extinguisher and a fire blanket, isolating the gas and electric in the process.

They left the scene at 8.34pm and none of the casualties required hospital treatment.
