AN OUTDOOR photographic exhibition and artistic installation is being held at the Springhead gardens in north Dorset in aid of charity.

‘From Negative to Positive’ has been created by photographer and artist Nicky Cripwell.

There will be a dozen images spread throughout the beautiful lakeside gardens each set within an individual artistic installation. The project is a collaboration between Nicky Cripwell and You First, a Dorset charity that coordinates women’s refuges. The striking images and the associated words were developed at workshops run at the refuges and reflect the often difficult emotional journey that women have to travel in order to escape abusive relationships and other hardships.

Nicky said the 12 photographs are to be included in a calendar which will help raise funds for the valuable work of the You First charity.

The Springhead Trust is an independent charitable trust located in Fontmell Magna in north Dorset. The mill buildings and lakeside gardens provide the venue for numerous schools and charitable organisations for either day visits or residential stays. The aims of the trust is to promote environmental education, organic farming, sustainable living and local creative arts all in a beautiful rural location.

The exhibition is being held on Wednesday, October 26 from 10am to 5pm. All proceeds will be going towards the You First charity.
