CAN anyone help a researcher find out more about a woman from Dorset?

Dr George Sheeran of the University of Bradford is researching the seaside homes on the Yorkshire coast of wealthy individuals of the 19th and 20th centuries.

One of these was a woman named Elinor Clarke who lived in Filey who willed most of her estate in 1905 to her niece, Elinor Fox-Hawes, who died in Bournemouth in 1956.

She in turn left much of her estate to Terrance Edward Fox-Hawes who died in Bournemouth in 1991.

Dr Sheeran said: "I wondered whether there were any readers who were related to the Fox-Hawes family still living in Bournemouth and whether they might have retained any family papers, especially photographs, that they might be willing to share?"
