A HORSE with a trapped hoof caused delays on a Dorset road.
Firefighters, police and a vet were called to the A352 Sherborne Hill at 12.45pm.
A horse had trapped a hoof in its trailer and was struggling to free itself.
Police partially blocked the road at the A3030 because of the incident, which was initially reported by Dorset Travel as a fire in the horse box.
A spokesman for the Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said: "We had specialist animal rescue on the way but were able to turn them back as the horse had managed to free itself through a fair amount of thrashing about.
"The crew from Sherborne stayed on scene and helped in removing the partitions within the horse box."
The crew left the scene at 1.30pm.
The road is now clear.
