MARK Jermyn heaped the praise on loanee Ollie Bassett after he netted a 91st-minute winner to seal a marvellous 3-2 comeback victory for Dorchester Town against Chesham United.

His side were able to come back from a goal behind to win – something they were unable to do in the FA Trophy – and this was enjoyed by the manager.

He told Echosport: “I told the boys at half-time I didn’t want deja vu from last week and we made sure we were on the front foot.

“We deserved to win and it’s nice to win at home.

“The supporters have been through a lot in the last couple of years and we want to win for them.”

He added: “It was against a very experienced side and it takes us to 22 points and we are on target for where we want to be at Christmas.

“We have a good football team and the players know we have to get points. To get points was a must and I am very happy.”

Franklyn Clarke continued his good form since returning to the county town side and Jermyn praised the midfielder for his efforts.

Jermyn remarked: “He brings energy and desire to the side.

“He’s got good quality and Ollie Bassett is a great player. He deserves all the credit. He’s fitted into the team well and he has a great attitude.

“He wants to be here and he’s enjoying playing for something. He will go from strength to strength”

On the other flank, there was some concern for Tom Blair, who came off with a head injury.

He will be monitored before tomorrow’s game away to Cirencester Town – a team that lost 6-0 to Biggleswade Town on Saturday.
