IT’S TIME to get jumping and raise money for a special festive charity challenge.

Businesses and organisations from across Weymouth have already got involved in The Christmas Jumper Challenge which sees people uploading a video to the internet them of them jumping in their Christmas jumpers.

Videos have already started being uploaded with the challenge raising money for Julia’s House and Save the Children.

The idea is the brainchild of Ysanne, from Weymouth.

The Post Office, Specsavers, Let’s Dance, Whizz Kids, Lloyds Bank, M&S and Razzamataz in Weymouth have all already got the ball rolling and have been jumping to raise money.

Ysanne said that she loves the work that Julia’s House does and wanted an idea to raise awareness and fundraise for the charity.

People are being asked to join in and film themselves and their friends doing as many silly, crazy and funny jumps as they can in 30 seconds, wearing Christmas jumpers if possible.

They are asked to use the charity song Christmas in the Sun while performing the jumps, which can be found on Youtube.

This is all ahead of Christmas Jumper Day on Friday, December 16.

A spokesman for Julia’s House said: “Julia’s House is delighted to be supported by the #imachristmasjumper challenge.

“Julia’s House is the only children’s hospice in Dorset and Wiltshire dedicated to helping children and their families.

“The money raised by this fantastic festive challenge will go to supporting these families, so a huge thank you to everyone who has and will take part in becoming a Christmas jumper.”
