HOPE Square will light up this weekend for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

The ongoing ‘Light up a Life’ service, being held throughout Dorset, will be coming to Brewers Quay at 4.30pm on Sunday, December 11.

During the service a Christmas tree will be illuminated with each light representing the life of a loved one no longer with us.

Dream Cottages, Dorset’s leading holiday cottage agency with more than 300 lets through the county, will be sponsoring the event.

Zachary Stuart-Brown, managing director of Dream Cottages, said: “We are proud to be sponsoring the Light up a Life service in Weymouth this year.

“It is an opportunity for local people to remember loved ones at a very special time of year, whilst also raising funds for such a worthwhile charity.”

Weldmar’s Business Fundraising manager Jon Panton said: “We truly appreciate the support of Dream Cottages at this very special service.

“We could not offer our care to patients and their families across Dorset without the help of our local community.”

Throughout the month services will takes place in Sherborne, Gillingham, Wareham, Dorchester, Weymouth and Abbotsbury.

Everyone who is remembered through the lights will be acknowledged with a special card and their name featured in the 2016 Book of Remembrance.

If you wish to nominate a person to remember, Weldmar is asking for a donation as big or small as you wish.
