A CERVICAL cancer survivor sang her heart out for a local support group to raise more than £2,750.

Holly Jobling was supported by the GO Girls Support Group, which meets in Poundbury, when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer just over a year ago.

Following radical surgery and with the support of the GO Girls, Holly has thankfully made a full recovery and this Christmas she wanted to repay the group for its valued support.

So Holly. along with fellow members of the Just Sing Adult Choir, decided to donate the proceeds from their Just Sing at Christmas concert to support the work of the GO Girls.

Holly, who lives in Wimborne, said: "Raising funds for GO Girls Support Group means so much to me - they were there when I was at my lowest ebb - and to have the support of my singing group, Just Choir, is amazing - I am so touched the group chose to support GO Girls this Christmas."

Kelly Perry, founder and leader of the Just Sing Choir, added: "It was a unanimous vote by the Just Sing Choir that we should support GO Girls this year - we know how much Holly has gone through with her cervical cancer and this is just our way of us showing how proud we are of Holly, to acknowledge all that she has been through and how much we value the GO Girls Support Group."

Hilary Maxwell, gynae-oncology nurse specialist who co-founded the GO Girls, said: "I am thrilled Holly has made such a full recovery - having a cancer diagnosis is frightening and being so young was all the more devastating.

"Holly has been incredibly brave and all GO Girls are so proud of her.

"Women must go for their smear tests - it is the only reliable way of picking up cervical cancers early and save a life."

The concert took place at the Queen Elizabeth School in Wimborne and it was a complete sell out.
