Youngsters enjoy performing in music marathon

BUDDING musicians from primary schools across Weymouth took part in the Chesil Music Marathon.

Dozens of children from seven schools played for half an hour during the musical extravaganza at All Saints School.

Singing, flutes and pianos echoed throughout the Sunnyside Road School for more than five hours.

Sarah Sprague, headteacher of Beechcroft St Pauls Primary School, said: "It was a great opportunity for the children to experience public performance.

"It was a real celebration of music and anything that celebrates music as an art has got to be good."

The event was in preparation for an even larger event planned for next year.
