UNLESS you've been living on the moon, chances are you are familiar with the Harry Potter series.

Since the first of JK Rowling's seven-part tale was published in 1997, muggles young and old have gone mad for all things magical.

You can visit the Harry Potter studios, kit yourself out in the colours of your 'house' (Syltherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw) and now, you can even play Quidditch.

That's right, this isn't a magical illusion (although the flying part might require a bit of imagination.)

Quidditch is a game played by real-life people and the local team is now holding try-outs.

The Quidditch Premier League is a brand-new organisation which will organise high-level quidditch games throughout the UK. It is the first league to be open to players for everyone across the country and its launch is a landmark moment for the fast-growing sport.

The local team is known as Southwest Broadside, headed up by Connor Simpson. You can register your interest to participate here.

The try-outs will be in the following locations:

Exeter: Flowerpot Playing Field, EX4 1DH

Sunday 5th February, 2017, 1:30pm-4:30pm

Bristol: Durdham Down, by Café Retreat, BS9 1FG

Sunday 19th February, 2017, 12pm-3pm
