ALBUM REVIEW
THE HEAD AND THE HEART
SIGNS OF LIGHT
LIKE a ray of sunshine on a dull day, this offering from the Seattle six-piece is rife with feelgood rootsy sincerity.
It gets off to a corking start with All We Ever Knew which is a cheerful anthem to being in love. The tender, stripped-down Library Magic shows this indie band do soul-searching so well.
Just when you think there's too much of a folk sound there's seamless switches to full, instrument drenched anthems enhanced by singer Charity Rose Thielen's beautiful voice.
It's just a shame we don't get to hear more from her.
There are shades of Coldplay on title track Signs of Light a rather ponderous sign-off for such a distinguished album.
