A MAN who stole models of tanks from a military museum has been ordered to pay compensation.
Desmond Alcock took books and miniatures from the Bovington Tank Museum's gift shop during a visit on November 27 last year.
The 43-year-old appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, January 17, where he admitted a charge of theft.
He was fined £120 and ordered to pay compensation of £520.76, as well as costs of £85.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "Various items were taken from the museum's gift shop.
"Alcock was ordered to repay the total value of the items taken."
The defendant was arrested at his home in Highbury Road in Bulwell near Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, on December 5 2016.
