A FISHERMAN'S daughter and her one legged seagull friend are back in a piece of family theatre which is set to tour Dorset libraries this February half-term.

AsOne Theatre Company will bring The Fisherman’s Daughter; Part II Jess’s Odyssey to Weymouth Library on Wednesday February 15 at 11am, Bridport Library on Thursday February 16 at 11am and Dorchester Library on Friday February 17 at 11am.

It will also be at Gillingham Library on Tuesday February 14 at 2.30pm.

Those who have not seen The Fisherman’s Daughter Part I – Sea-Monsters & Pirates - need not worry as, although a perfect pairing, these two can be seen in any order, and are both beautifully written stand alone plays

However for those who did enjoy Part I last Easter, The Fisherman’s Daughter Part II – Jess’s Odyssey sees the return of everyone’s favourite characters including the hilarious, one legged seagull, Harold.

This time there is an exciting Greek connection! The Fisherman’s Daughter Jess loves reading but Homer’s epic narrative poem, The Odyssey confuses her. Up pops a stranger, who just happens to have the same name as the author Homer, a Greek boy from a trawler in the harbour; he holds a very bedraggled one legged seagull rescued from the water.

All three embark on an Odyssey; but where is the colourful, book loving, Moira? Jess’s Odyssey is a 45 minute rollicking tale of monsters, high seas, strange islands, and sirens for all the family.

There will also be theatre performances of The Fisherman’s daughter Part I - Sea-monsters and Pirates - on Saturday February 18 at The Mowlem Theatre as a part of The Purbeck Festival. It will then arrive at the Shelley Theatre, Boscombe, Bournemouth on Sunday March 5 at 3pm

As One Theatre continues after half term into March touring theatres in Wiltshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset with The Fisherman’s Daughter Part I - Sea-monsters and Pirates - or the double bill along with The Fisherman’s Daughter Part II - Jess’s Odyssey.
