THE FIRST homes at a 46-dwelling development near Dorchester are set to go on the market later this year.

Dorset developer Wyatt Homes has released artist impressions showing home some of the homes at its Charminster Farm development will look.

The scheme, which will boast a community hall, village green and square as well as a range of three, four and give bedroom properties is being built on land adjacent to Weir View Road in Charminster behind St Mary's First School.

Wyatt Homes says the location was "likely to prove highly popular with buyers" due to its location close to Dorchester and other local facilities.

Sales and marketing director for Wyatt Homes Annie Huddleston said: "We are thrilled that the Charminster Farm development will be coming soon as we have had a significant amount of interest for these new homes.

"It is a great location surrounded by beautiful countryside yet close to a thriving town and all its facilities.

"We look forward to welcoming visitors and potential buyers to our latest Wyatt Homes’ development once building has started and ask them to register their interest now.

"Our expected sales release is anticipated for autumn 2017.”

The properties in Charminster Farm will range from terraces and semi-detached to detached houses with a mixture of two and two and a half storey homes, many of which will include a garage.

A spokesman for Wyatt Homes added: "With several developments now within the Wyatt Homes’ portfolio at various stages of plan and build, the company is fast becoming a leading name in the provision of quality designs which create real village-type communities with communal open spaces, public buildings, cycle routes, leisure and commercial facilities."

Outline planning permission for the Charminster Farm development was approved by West Dorset District Council in December 2014, with reserved matters approval received in August last year.

The plans were approved subject to a number of conditions including traffic calming measures in Weir View Road and the installation of a barrier at the junction with North Street.
