THERE are queues on the B3157 Hampshire Road and Granby Way in Weymouth this morning due to roadworks.

Temporary traffic lights have been set up on Hampshire Road between the Wessex Stadium roundabout and the Dorset Echo building while SSE carry out works to repair a high voltage fault.

Queues are stretching back along Granby Way and Radipole Lane.

On Twitter Travel Dorset has said that it has instructed SSE to have the lights manually controlled "ASAP" and apologised for the inconvenience caused.

Temporary lights were also due to be switched on this morning at Greenhill for works by Wessex Water.

Meanwhile, drivers are warned that five days of surfacing work near Weymouth Harbour will start today.

As part of Dorset County Council’s highway maintenance programme, Custom House Quay, Commercial Road and Belle Vue are being targeted for repairs.

Today, Belle Vue will be closed from 9am to 4pm while it is resurfaced and Custom House Quay – between The Esplanade and South Parade – will be closed between 9am and 4pm while it has extensive patching carried out.
