Police were called to a two-car crash on the A35.
Officers were called shortly before 9am to the A35 near the turning for the A352 to the crash.
One lane was closed while the vehicles are recovered but the road is now clear.
The ambulance service has also been informed but police said there was only "slight injuries".
The cars involved were a blue Vauxhall Mariva, registered to a Dorchester woman and blue Renault Scenic registered to a man from Dorchester.
Traffic was queuing eastbound in the area between the A354 junction and the A352 Stafford turn off with congestion also going back to A37.
On Twitter, Travel Dorset reported severe delays around the crash but traffic is now easing.
