A COMMUNITY has come together to help give a brave young man battling cancer some “happy days” and help him to create some memories with his family.

Sean Entwistle, from Weymouth, is just 17 year -old and in 2016 was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma, a rare type of cancer.

The diagnosis came just months after he lost his father in November 2015 but following months of chemotherapy, it looked like he had beaten the cancer.

However, it came back and more chemotherapy and surgery followed, before family friends once again thought he had beaten it.

Last week, Sean received the news that the cancer was back.

Now, the community is rallying round to try and give him and his family some “happy days” and a chance to make some memories to last a lifetime.

Since the JustGiving page was launched just last week, more than £2000 has been raised to support Sean and his family.

Sean is currently in hospital in Southampton to receive treatment.

To raise more money for Sean and his family a fundraising night will be held at the Wyke Smugglers on Portland Road.

The night will feature a raffle as well as music from Soft Option.

Seven men will also be taking part in a waxing to raise money with a sponsored head shave as well.

Donations of prizes for the raffle are still being welcomed for the event which is from 7.30pm on Friday, March 10.

Christine Paddock, one of the organisers of the event, paid tribute to the people who have supported it.

She said: “He’s very very poorly at the moment. He’s in Southampton having the chemo. We just want to give him some good days, he was only 15 when he was first diagnosed.

“We have 120 people who have already said they are coming. The community has been absolutely amazing, people have donated all sorts of prizes.

“Lots of local businesses have donated prizes to help as well.”

If you are able to donate raffle prizes, contact Rick Paddock on Facebook and prizes can be collected from you if needs be.
