THE Dorset Echo today launches our very own Camera Club - and we are calling on all photographers to sign up.

Along with our sister paper, the Daily Echo, the Echo Camera Club Dorset wants to give all photographers the chance to have their images published and potentially seen by millions of people online - and in print.

There will be monthly competitions with a £50 prize for the lucky winner and the chance to meet-up with professional photographers at workshops.

Corin Messer, head of digital imaging at the Daily Echo said: "We consider ourselves very lucky to receive hundreds of pictures from amateur photographers every month so I’m really excited to help create this forum to show off images, ask questions and pass on knowledge.

"I’ll be sharing pictures from my portfolio and answering questions about the experiences I’ve had working for the paper as well as leading group meetings.

"I’m very much looking forward to getting to know my fellow snappers from across the circulation areas of our papers and seeing how people approach our monthly competitions."

You can join our dedicated Facebook group where members can share their best snaps and tips, get feedback and ask for advice.

Our monthly competition will have a different theme each month, and we'd love you to suggest some ideas for what you'd like to see as well.

There will even be special prizes for pictures events taking place across Dorset, which could include Christchurch Food Festival and Bournemouth Air Festival.

Existing Camera Clubs across Dorset have already been contacted - so sign up now!
